Riverina Solar
EPS Energy are the developer of the proposed Riverina Solar Farm, located in Yoogali, NSW. The proposal involves development of a photovoltaic commercial scale solar station designed to feed into the National Electricity Market with a capacity of approximately 30 megawatts. The approximate cost of the project is 56.4 million AUD. The farm will use tracking solar panels which follow the sun’s movement throughout the day for maximum collection. At the end of the day the panels track back to the east ready for the next operation.
Development Consent for the Riverina Solar Farm was granted in June 2016 by the New South Wales Department of Planning and Environment. Land access agreements have been established with the landowners of the project area, and the terms of lease agreements have been agreed upon. An Offer to Connect has been issued by Transgrid and Network Registration has commenced with the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO).
EPS Energy has worked closely with the client and relevant agencies to gain post-development consent approvals including the Environmental Management Strategy, Landscaping Master Plan, and the Site Access and Stormwater Drainage Plans.

PROJECTS
Glen Innes Wind Farm
The Glen Innes Wind Farm, a Nexif Energy project, is to be located on the Waterloo Range, approximately 12km west of Glen Innes, New South Wales. The project is planned to consist of 25 wind turbines, with substation auxiliary services buildings and connection to the TransGrid 132kV overhead transmission line which will feed into the National Electricity Market.
EPS are providing specialist consultancy services role in the development of this renewable energy project developing a Bird and Bat Adaptive Management Plan, a Flora and Fauna Management Plan and investigating biodiversity offsetting along with the preparation of the Construction Environmental Management Plan, Traffic Management Plan and Noise Management Plan.
East Australian Site Identification, Selection and Assessment
EPS Energy has recently completed site identification, selection and assessment works across the eastern states of Australia.
The assessment process initially involved interrogation of spatial data and review of relevant legislative instruments. Areas identified as suitable were then further investigated to understand land use history, ownership, property values and other details relevant to the development.
The assessment has resulted in progressing a number of utility solar photo-voltaic plants in Victoria, Queensland and New South Wales.

Planning Assessment Toolkit
EPS Energy prepared a Planning Assessment Toolkit to assist Community Solar Energy Projects seek project development approval for developments within the Local Government Areas (LGA) of Lake Macquarie, Newcastle and Port Stephens.
CLEANaS is a not-for-profit association formed in 2012, governed by a nominated Steering Committee who oversee projects and initiatives of the association.
The Lighthouse Community Renewable Energy (Lighthouse) Project, is a CLEANaS Project.
On behalf of CLEANaS, EPS prepared a suite of planning documents (referred to as a planning toolkit) that can be used by community organisations to attain development consent for commercial scale solar projects. Ideally this will be under the supervision and assistance of the CLEANaS Lighthouse Project.
EPS’ planning toolkit formed part of a larger Lighthouse Project Toolkit that aimed to facilitate and assist community groups in developing and owning solar installations that would directly supply local businesses with renewable energy. Each solar installation ideally will be funded by the community and will generate income through the purchase of the electricity by the host business.
EPS’s planning toolkit provides a step-by-step process that allows the general community to identify the appropriate planning assessment pathway for each proposed solar installation.
